The medical curriculum at Emory University School of Medicine is divided into four phases: Foundations of Medicine, Applications of Medical Sciences, Discovery, and Translation of Medical Sciences. Every student is assigned to one of four Societies, each with clinician advisers and mentor support.

Emory Healthcare is the largest healthcare system in Georgia and includes Emory University Hospital and Emory Dunwoody Medical Center, among other centers, hospitals, and clinics. In addition, the medical school is affiliated with health facilities including Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Atlanta VA Medical Center.

Outside of class, there are more than 30 student organizations to check out, such as Apollo Kaufee Haus, a group of students who participate in open mic nights, and Styloid Process, the medical school’s journal for the literary and visual arts. Students can live in the university-owned Campus Crossing housing complex or can look for housing elsewhere in Atlanta. One in every four physicians trained in Georgia is an Emory School of Medicine graduate.
