Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law is a New York City-based institution with particularly high rankings for its intellectual property law and dispute resolution programs, as well as for its part-time law program. It has special programs in Holocaust and Human Right studies, Jewish Law and Interdisciplinary Studies, and a program in Family Law, Policy, and Bioethics, among others. For students interested in a joint degree program, Cardozo teams up with the Wurzweiler School of Social Work to offer a joint J.D./master of Social Work program, and with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine for a joint J.D./master in Bioethics program.

The school was named after former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Benjamin N. Cardozo, who, according to the law school, was “renowned for his integrity, social consciousness, and elegant opinions”—values on which the school says it was founded. Located in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village, the law school is also home to the Jacob Burns Institute for Advanced Legal Studies, the Samuel and Ronnie Heyman Center on Corporate Governance, and the Floersheimer Center for Constitutional Democracy.

Outside of class, law students can relax in the Kathryn O. and Alan C. Greenberg Center for Student Life, and have the option to live in the law school’s residence hall, The Alabama. There are also a variety of student organizations to consider, including OUTLaw and the Black Asian Latino Law Students Association. Legal journals at Cardozo Law include the Cardozo Law Review, the Cardozo Journal of Law and Gender, the Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal, and the New York Real Estate Law Reporter.
