The University of Kentucky College of Law is located on the university’s main campus in Lexington, making it convenient for students interested in earning a dual degree through another academic department at the University of Kentucky. Available dual degree programs include a J.D./M.B.A. offered in conjunction with the University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics and a J.D./Master of Diplomacy and International Commerce through the University of Kentucky Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce.
Through the UK Legal Clinic, law students can get hands-on training in public interest law, legal research, externship experiences, and more. Outside of class, students may consider joining a UK Law organization, such as the Equine Law Society, the Legal Running Club, and the Latino(a) Law Students Association, or may vie for spots on one of two students journals at UK Law: the Kentucky Law Journal and the Kentucky Journal for Equine, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Law.
All students admitted to the law school are considered for merit scholarships. Diversity awards are also offered to both Kentucky residents and out-of-state students. As students in the University of Kentucky system, law students also receive university perks including group seats to UK football and basketball games and access to a free shuttle bus from the school parking lot.
