There are also a variety of dual degree programs, such as a J.D./M.B.A. through the Leeds School of Business, a J.D./Master of Urban and Regional Planning via the College of Architecture and Planning, and a J.D./M.D. program through the CU—Denver School of Medicine.
In addition to a traditional legal curriculum, the school has an Experiential Learning Program that sets students up in clinics, externships, and a voluntary public service program that commits students to at least 50 hours of pro bono work before graduation. Students can also get involved in school centers, such as the Silicon Flatirons Center for Law, Technology, and Entrepreneurship and the Natural Resources Law Center.
There are more than 30 student organizations to check out, including the Colorado Election Law Project and the Sports and Entertainment Law Student Association, as well as three legal journals: the University of Colorado Law Review; the Colorado Journal of International Environmental Law and Policy; and the Journal on Telecommunications and High Technology Law.
Notable alumni of the CU School of Law include Chuck Berry, president of the Colorado Association of Commerce & Industry, and Glenn Jones, a pioneer in the technology industry who founded various entities including Jones International University, an online school, and Great American Country, a 24-hour country music cable TV network.
