Founded in 1833, the University of Cincinnati College of Law is one of the oldest law schools in the country. It continues to innovate, allowing students to focus their legal training in specific areas ranging from business law to law, technology, and the creative arts. Students also have the option to complete dual degrees, including a J.D./M.B.A. offered in conjunction with the University of Cincinnati College of Business Administration. (For that four-year program, students must be admitted to both the law and business schools, and spend a full year taking courses solely in the College of Business Administration.)

Students can get practical training through law school-operated centers and clinics including the Rosenthal Institute for Justice, where, through the Ohio Innocence Project, students work to identify wrongly imprisoned inmates throughout the state. Other centers, clinics, and institutes at UC Law include the Corporate Law Center, the Domestic Violence and Civil Protection Order Clinic, and the Urban Morgan Institute for Human Rights.

Students may also have the opportunity to participate in student legal journals, including the University of Cincinnati Law Review, the Freedom Center Journal, the Human Rights Quarterly, and the Immigration and Nationality Law Review. Extracurricular opportunities, including the Sports and Entertainment Law Club and the Law Students for Reproductive Justice organization may also offer opportunities for training and involvement.
