Available research areas at the College of Engineering vary from nanotechnology to imaging technology to manufacturing.

This diverse range of research opportunities complements the school’s graduate degree options. Doctoral degrees are also offered in each of the engineering disciplines.

In addition to its full-time, in-person graduate programs, the College of Engineering offers an online master’s degree from the following engineering departments: computer and information science and engineering, civil and coastal engineering, electrical and computer engineering, environmental engineering sciences, materials science and engineering, mechanical and aerospace engineering, and industrial and systems engineering.

Outside of the classroom, nature enthusiasts can visit the world’s largest butterfly research center, or the largest occupied bat house— home to nearly 100,000 bats—in North America. Or, explore nearby Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park for canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and bird watching.

Notable alumni from the University of Florida’s College of Engineering include Lesa Roe, director of NASA’s Langley Research Center, and James Thompson, former deputy administrator for NASA.
