Engineering School Overview
The College of Engineering at Purdue University--West Lafayette has a rolling application deadline. The application fee is $60 for U.S. residents and $75 for international students. At the Purdue College of Engineering, graduate students have more than 70 academic programs and more than 600 research and study areas to select from. Purdue Engineering is especially highly ranked in the agricultural and biological engineering and civil engineering fields. Students can work on projects in Purdue’s signature areas, which are multidisciplinary research initiatives in areas such as Tissue and Cellular Engineering and Global Sustainable Industrial Systems.
Outside of class, students can get involved in dozens of student organizations specific to the College of Engineering, as well as initiatives like Engineering Projects in Community Service, Women in Engineering, and the Indiana Space Grant Consortium. Students can apply to live in graduate housing areas on campus, including the Purdue Village, an apartment-style complex, and Hawkin Hall, a collection of single and double rooms. West Lafayette and nearby Lafayette, Ind. offer plenty of options for off-campus housing, too.
Notable alumni of the Purdue College of Engineering include astronauts Neil Armstrong and Eugene Cernan and the father of radio broadcasting Reginald Fessenden.
