Education School Overview

At the Ohio State University College of Education and Human Ecology, graduate students have several directions in which to take their education. A wide variety of graduate programs, from Early Childhood Education to Fashion and Retail Studies, are offered through the school’s academic departments: Consumer Sciences; Educational Policy and Leadership; Human Development and Family Science; Human Nutrition; Physical Activity and Educational Services; and Teaching and Learning. Students can earn M.A., M.Ed. and Ph.D. degrees in each department.

The school runs a handful of outreach programs and centers, including the ESL-Content Teachers Collaborative, which trains English as a Second Language teachers in Ohio, and the Reading Recovery Council of North America, a personal tutoring program for struggling first graders. Graduate students can live on or off Ohio State’s campus in Columbus, Ohio and can travel around campus for free on the university’s CABS bus service.
