Graduate students at Wake Forest University’s Babcock School of Business have a direct ear to the school’s dean every week—if they can keep up. Known as Dawn with the Dean, an early morning run with the Dean of Business also gives Babcock students a chance to build relationships—and endurance—with classmates and faculty. The dean also hosts an annual basketball tournament at his home where teams of business students from the graduate and undergraduate programs compete alongside faculty and staff.

The Babcock Graduate School of Business offers a 21-month, full-time M.B.A. program where students choose one of the following concentrations: health, finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, operations management, or consulting/general management. Working professionals can opt for Babcock’s part-time program. The school offers two options for part-time students to complete their M.B.A. in two years: an evening program in Winston-Salem or Charlotte, or a weekend program that meets every Saturday in Charlotte. Students interested in dual degrees can combine their M.B.A. with an M.S. in Accounting, a J.D. from the Wake Forest School of Law, an M.D. from the School of Medicine, or a Ph. D. from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

Master’s candidates at Babcock can make an impact globally and locally while enrolled at Wake Forest University. The school’s Flow Institute for International Studies organizes trips, seminars, speakers, and exchange programs for M.B.A. students, and Project Nicaragua gives students the opportunity to conduct business skills seminars and consulting programs for small businesses in Nicaragua. Locally, Babcock’s Family Business Center helps family-run businesses address the unique challenges they face.

Notable alumni from Babcock include Ken Thompson, former CEO if Wachovia (now Wells Fargo Bank); Charlie Ergen, cofounder of DISH Network; and Pat Williams, senior vice president of the NBA’s Orlando Magic.
