Business School Overview

The Lundquist College of Business at University of Oregon offers graduate programs in these departments and concentrations: accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, general management, marketing, management information systems, production/operations management, portfolio management, sports business, and supply chain management/logistics. Its tuition is full-time: $20,889 per year (in-state) and full-time: $28,917 per year (out-of-state). At graduation, 34.7 percent of graduates of the full-time program are employed.

At University of Oregon’s Lundquist College of Business, students reside in the city of Eugene, in the heart of the Willamette Valley. Two hours south of Portland, Eugene is the state’s second-largest metro region, and it offers business opportunities for Lundquist students to check out, as well as outdoor adventure in the nearby mountains and ocean. Students in the Lundquist College can connect with the greater university through many UO traditions, such as Oregon Ducks football games in the fall, and the three-week Oregon Bach Festival of music in the summer.

Academically, students at the Lundquist College of Business can explore four distinctive centers, which include the Finance and Securities Analysis Center, Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship, Center for Sustainable Business Practices, and the James H. Warsaw Sports Marketing Center—home to the first sports business program. These centers are also the bases of the four tracks students can pursue while earning the Oregon M.B.A.: security analysis, entrepreneurship, sustainable business practices, and sports business.

Graduate students in the M.B.A. program build their curriculum on eight core classes and then a capstone, along with plenty of experiential learning opportunities, such as advising local companies.

The Lundquist College of Business M.B.A. program also offers an optional study abroad trip to China, and about a third of its students in Eugene are international. Graduate students with extensive professional experience may pursue the executive M.B.A. program, with classes conveniently scheduled on alternating Fridays and Saturdays for 18 months. UO students at Lundquist Business College can also pursue a master’s of accounting or a Ph.D.

Students at the Lundquist College of Business can make the most of their studies by making an appointment with career services, which offers tools and advising specifically for graduate students, such as networking discussions and web-based self assessments. Notable alumni include Robert Polet, former president and CEO of the Gucci Group fashion company.
