Business School Overview

The Terry College of Business at University of Georgia offers graduate programs in these departments and concentrations: accounting, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, general management, insurance, marketing, management information systems, production/operations management, real estate, and quantitative analysis/statistics and operations research. Its tuition is full-time: $11,916 per year (in-state); full-time: $29,626 per year (out-of-state); executive: $74,000 total program (in-state); and executive: $79,000 total program (out-of-state). At graduation, 65.8 percent of graduates of the full-time program are employed.

Drawing from the Atlanta area’s roots in hip hop, jazz, and R&B, the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia offers students a certificate program in music business. The music program is in addition to a variety of advanced degree offerings, which include Internet technology, marketing research, business administration, and accountancy. Additionally, a joint degree offering with the university’s law school allows students to work on a J.D. and M.B.A. simultaneously, completing both in four years instead of the typical five.

For M.B.A. students, the school has full-time, part-time, and executive options. In the Fast Track M.B.A., a two year, part-time program, students take two night classes every other week. Professionals with a decade or more of experience can opt for the Executive M.B.A., taking classes every weekend for the duration of the 18-month program. While international study is optional for full-time and fast-track M.B.A. students, a 10-day global study trip is required in the executive program.

Students at the Terry College of Business can network with the classmates through one of the school’s business clubs, competing in national case study and business plan competitions, or watching the school’s beloved Bulldogs take on rival colleges in everything from football to swimming and diving. Opportunities for off-campus activities include professional sports teams in nearby Atlanta and a vibrant music scene surrounding the Athens campus.

Notable alumni from the Terry College of Business include Dan Amos, chairman and CEO of Aflac, Inc.; and Sheila Taormina, a four-time U.S. Olympian who has competed in three different sports.
