Business School Overview

The School of Management at Boston University offers graduate programs in these departments and concentrations: accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, general management, health care administration, international business, leadership, marketing, management information systems, not-for-profit management, production/operations management, organizational behavior, supply chain management/logistics, quantitative analysis/statistics and operations research, and technology. Its tuition is full-time: $42,400 per year; part-time: $1,325 per credit; and executive: $91,500 total program. At graduation, 66.1 percent of graduates of the full-time program are employed.

Students at the Boston University School of Management are taught to think of business organizations as an interconnected whole, where each decision made affects multiple audiences. Through collaborative teaching and team learning, students get an understanding for team dynamics. The school offers a full-time M.B.A. program in which students are assigned to a group of about 50 students who take core courses together in order to promote close professional and personal bonds.

The School of Management also offers a one-year international M.B.A. that immerses students in a multicultural learning community. The program begins with a summer in Beijing and Shanghai and is completed in the fall at the Boston University campus. Along with the full-time and accelerated programs, students can also enroll in a part-time or executive M.B.A. program, Ph.D. program, or graduate degree programs in Investment Management and Mathematical Finance. Joint degrees are offered in conjunction with the College of Engineering, the School of Public Health, the School of Medicine, the School of Law, the College of Communication, and the Graduate College of Arts and Sciences.

There are more than 45,000 BU management graduates around the world, and some of the notable alumni include Millard Drexler, chairman and CEO of J. Crew Group; Edward Zander, former chairman and CEO of Motorola, Inc.; and Jerald Fishman, president and CEO of Analog Devices, Inc.
