Business School Overview
The College of Business Administration at Abilene Christian University
offers graduate programs in these departments and concentrations:
accounting.
Located in Abilene, Texas, Abilene Christian University is affiliated with Churches of Christ, and often integrates faith into academic life. The ACU School of Business Administration mission is first to “glorify God,” and all ACU students are required to attend daily chapel sessions. ACU students can also spend their time cheering on the Division II Abilene Christian Wildcats sports teams and exploring about 100 student organizations.
Graduate students in the ACU School of Business Administration can earn a master of accountancy, which can be completed in just two semesters by students who earned their bachelor of business administration from ACU. Graduate students with a bachelor’s in accounting from another school can complete the degree in one year, and students with other undergraduate degrees typically take one to three years to earn the master of accountancy degree.
A unique feature of the accountancy program at ACU is that students take nonbusiness elective graduate courses from outside the College of Business Administration, in other departments of the university. With a master’s degree in accounting, many ACU students go on to become auditors, public or corporate accountants, CFOs, and tax planners.
The College of Business Administration offers career advising for students and assists them with résumés, cover letters, and interviews. ACU students can also access the CareerLink database, which lists more than 300 internship and job opportunities, as well as more than 3,000 employers.
